Organize recordings with labels

Labels are personal tags for finding your recordings again. Unlike a group, a label never grants or restricts access.

Requires: Write access to a recording to attach a label to it. Anyone can create labels.

The Labels sidebar lists the labels you created. A label's colour is generated from its name, so renaming a label also changes its colour.

Create a label

  1. In the Labels sidebar, select + New.
  2. Enter a name. Label preview shows the resulting chip; the colour is generated automatically from the name.
  3. Confirm. The label appears in the sidebar.

Attach a label to a recording

Requires: Write access to the recording.

Drag the recording onto the label in the Labels sidebar. The label's chip then appears on that recording.

Anyone with Write access to a recording can attach any label they can see, including one somebody else created. A label on a recording is visible to everyone who can access that recording, so treat label names as shared wording rather than private notes.

Filter by label

Select a label in the Labels sidebar to show only the recordings carrying it. Select All to clear the filter.

Rename or delete a label

Requires: Being the label's creator, or an instance administrator.

Select the gear on the label chip to open Manage label. Rename it and save, or delete it.

Deleting a label removes it from every recording it was attached to. This cannot be undone; the recordings themselves are unaffected.
